The electronically adjustable chassis of the K 1200 S (optional) is a world first: for the first time in a serial production motorcycle, it enables the chassis to be adjusted by pressing a button on the handlebars. “The idea derived from the experience that although the chassis of modern sports bikes have many adjustment options, many riders keep a single all-round setting in place purely for convenience – no matter whether they are traveling alone or with a passenger and regardless of the route profile,” ESA will lead riders to adopt a very different approach: “Using the basic suspension adjustment function, you can adjust the rear to suit your load by means of a double press on the handlebar button – it takes just 10 seconds. At the same time, damping response can be adjusted to several different levels, even while you are actually traveling. The ESA will mean that in future motorcyclists will regularly adjust their chassis to the prevailing conditions. The aim of the electronically adjustable chassis is thus to ensure that the options offered by a modern chassis are conveniently available to all motorcyclists.”
